Lt. Col. Jonathan S. Gration is the Commander, 477th Operations Support Flight, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. Prior to this assignment, Lieutenant Colonel Gration served as a lead planner for Exercise NORTHERN EDGE at Alaskan Command and Chief of Alert Operations for the 302nd Fighter Squadeon and 3rd Wing.  

Lieutenant Colonel Gration was commissioned from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 2000. Following pilot training, he was assigned to Langley AFB, Tyndall AFB, and Elmendorf AFB while flying the F-15C and F-22A.  Lieutenant Colonel Gration served 11 years in the active duty Air Force before joining the Air Force Reserve in 2011 where he currently serves as a Traditional Reservist. While not serving in uniformed service, he is employed as a first officer for FedEx Express where he flies the
MD-11 out of Anchorage, Alaska.  

Lieutenant Colonel Gration is a senior pilot with more than 1900 flight hours.
