    RED FLAG-Alaska 18-3, a Pacific Air Forces-sponsored exercise designed to provide realistic training in a simulated combat environment begins Aug. 9 and continues through Aug. 24, 2018.     Not your father’s GI Bill: DOD implements changes to veterans’ education benefits

    The Department of Defense issued a fundamental change July 12, 2018, to its policy on the transfer of Post-9/11 GI Bill educational benefits. Effective one year from the date of this change, eligibility to transfer those benefits will be limited to service members with less than 16 years of total active duty or selected reserve service.

  • On Sunday, July 22, 2018, SpaceX, a commercial leader in aerospace, successfully launched the Telstar 19 VANTAGE satellite from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida. Prior to the launch, Reserve Citizen Airmen from the 920th Rescue Wing, Patrick Air Force Base, Florida, took off in an HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter, to secure the Eastern Range ensuring there was no one in harm's way while the rocket lifted off.
