    While the song certainly refers to special and meaningful parts of most typical Christmases, it can sometimes be a little different for those of us serving in the military. Sometimes we are able to take leave and travel home to spend time with family and friends or have them travel to wherever we are stationed to spend the holidays with us. When we have those opportunities, we are truly blessed and should be thankful that we have the chance to be together and reminisce about “the glories of Christmases long, long ago,” as the famous song also reminds.

  • 12 runners journey across 200 miles

    Runners on Reserve, a team of 12 runners from JBER, competed in the inaugural Alaska Relay, a 200-mile race that started at Mirror Lake in Chugiak and finished at the High School in Seward. Out of 16 teams, our team finished in sixth place, an accomplishment that we can all be proud of. Although bodies were pushed to the limit, the team comradery while spending 28 hours in a van with six other sweaty runners was second to none.
