Tech. Sgt. Chris Harrington
477th Civil Engineer Squadron
Deployed to 506th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron, Kirkuk Regional Air Base, Kirkuk, Iraq
Duty title: Engineering assistant craftsman

Why is serving in the Air Force important to you?
I've served in the Air Force for about 15 years. I initially joined for the education and the chance to travel the world. Since that time, it's evolved to be much more. I've met some great people and I've had awesome opportunities to develop my skill set in geographic information systems. Meeting people from various career fields has provided me insight where my skills in GIS can help others. The Air Force has provided me possibilities that my nine to five job could not.

What inspires you?
My wife has been my greatest inspiration.

What is your most memorable Air Force experience?
My most memorable Air Force experience will be this deployment with Senior Master Sgt. Emtman. He and I joined the U.S. Air Force Reserve together --  we both crossed trained into civil engineering from different career fields. He is a great friend and an excellent mentor.

Hobbies/passion:
Oklahoma football and deep sea fishing. Right now is a great time -- during a great Alaskan summer.
