Col. Brian J. Budde is Commander of the 477th Fighter Group, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. In this capacity, Col. Budde is responsible for ensuring this classic associate F-22 unit is combat mission-ready to support HHQ tasks, COCOM OPLANs, and AFFORGEN requirements.
Col. Budde earned his commission from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 2000. He is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Weapons School and is a command pilot with more than 2,300 flying hours in the T-37, T-38, F-15 C/D, and F-22A. Col. Budde served 12 years in the active-duty Air Force before joining the Air Force Reserves in 2012 where he currently serves as an Air Reserve Technician. Prior to his present assignment, Col. Budde served as the Deputy Commander, 477th Fighter Group, Commander, 302d Fighter Squadron, and Director of Operations for the 90th Fighter Squadron.
