Major Naomi M. Ballard is the 477th Maintenance Squadron commander. She leads more than 60 personnel across nine different Air Force Specialty Codes providing off-aircraft maintenance support for the F-22 Raptors stationed at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. Her previous assignment was as the 446th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron's Operations Officer at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, where she was responsible for the oversight, management, scheduling, and training of more than 170 personnel made up of Air Reserve Technicians, Traditional Reservists, and civilians in six AFSCs performing maintenance on 40 C-17A Globemaster III aircraft valued at $14.7 billion.
Maj. Ballard entered the U.S. Air Force in 2011 after graduating from the US Air Force Academy. She served in both MAF and CAF units, deployed in support of Operation DEEP FREEZE and Operation INHERENT RESOLVE, and spent two years as the director of maintenance for the PEACE CARVIN V security assistance program working with the Republic of Singapore Air Force. After serving over seven years of active duty, Ballard transitioned to the Air Force Reserve and pursue a civilian career in the airline industry. While she is not serving as a TR, she works as a station duty manager for Horizon Air.
