GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE, Ind. -- Throughout the Air Force Reserve, recruiters are in charge of finding candidates for jobs and also to fit the standard to be an Airman, but now Airmen can help with that effort.
The Get 1 Now program gives reservists a chance to recommend qualified people to the Air Force Reserve. If the referral goes through and the person is qualified, the service member is eligible to win one of many prizes.
The program is very simple to use. You can log into the website or download the Get 1 Now app on your smartphone and devices.
Every day, whether Airmen are speaking about their Air Force Reserve career or being seen in uniform, they are constantly recruiting even if they don’t realize it.
“As a recruiter, I love getting the chance to flip someone’s life around. Some people make a complete 360 after graduating from basic training,” said Senior Master Sgt. David Williford, 434th Air Refueling Wing, recruiting flight chief. “With the Get 1 Now program, it gives Airmen the chance to do that for their peers.”
“Out of all of the referrals we receive, 24% of them join the Air Force Reserves,” said Williford. “Which is a high number.”
The program has been around for a while, but recruiters want to spread the word to those who do not know anything about it.
“I got referred to join the Air Force Reserve by the Get 1 Now program,” said Skylar Hettenbach. “My plan was originally to join, just like my step father, but it was nice to get inside information about the Air Force and a direct connection to a recruiter before I joined. I have already started to use the Get 1 Now program myself. I am trying to get some of my friends to join as well.”
If you know someone who is interested in joining the Air Force Reserve and has what it takes to become an Airman visit the Get 1 now website at https://get1now.us or by downloading the app. You may be changing their life while you get to win great prizes!
