477th Fighter Group Annual Award winners announced

The 477th Fighter Group 2019 Annual Award winners were announced March 7, at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska during a ceremony celebrating the unit’s best Reserve Citizen Airmen.

The event marks Airmen’s accomplishments during the previous year.

Before the revealing of the 2019 winners, Col. Brett Paola and Chief Master Sgt. Neverly Wake, the 477th FG Commander and Superintendent honored nominees during a medallion ceremony.

The medallion-draped nominees then joined a larger group of supportive friends, family and co-workers to find out who would be the winners.

 

Here are the 477th FG 2019 annual award winners:

Airman – Senior Airman Darryl Bulaong

Noncommissioned Officer – Tech. Sgt. Timothy Overgaauw

Senior Noncommissioned Officer – Senior Master Sgt. Christopher Rancourt

Company Grade Officer – 2nd Lt. Brendan Lee

Field Grade Officer – Maj. Peter Tymitz

Civilian – Will Benjamin

 

Other Airmen were also celebrated for their accomplishments at the annual awards ceremony.

Col. Paola announced Maj. Christopher Castaneda as the first winner of a new award category for the 447th FG Innovator of the Year. 

Lt. Col. Christopher Brian Budde, the 302nd Fighter Squadron commander also honored a couple of his F-22 Raptor pilots with awards.  Maj. Bradley Roberts was named the Instructor Pilot of the Year and Maj. Brent Tittle was recognized as the Warrior Pilot of the Year.

The Alaska Armed Forces YMCA Air Force Reservist of the Year, Tech. Sgt. Colten Mullins was also recognized at the event.
