JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska -- The 477th Fighter Group hosted an Individual Ready Reserve muster August 4, 2023, for Air Force IRR members.
If a servicemember decides to hang-up their uniform when separating from the Air Force but have not completed their initial 8-year service commitment, they complete that remaining time in the IRR.
IRR members are still considered a mobilization asset by the Department of Defense and are subject to recall to active duty.
Senior Master Sgt. Seth Roberts and Master Sgt. Robert Collier, 477th Fighter Group recruiters, were in attendance to brief and educate members on the benefits of joining the Air Force Reserve.
It is every IRR member's obligation per Title 10, U.S.C. Sections 10204 and 10205 to ensure the Air Force has up-to-date and accurate information on every member of the IRR. During the muster, members were able to fulfill this duty.
