Christmas Tree and Firewood Permits Published Dec. 17, 2010 By JBER Public Affairs Office JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska -- Christmas Tree and Firewood Permits are currently being issued free of charge at the JBER-Elmendorf Wildlife Education Center at 8481 19th Street to Military, Retired Military and DoD ID Card Holders. Permittees are limited to 1 Christmas Tree and 3 cords of wood per fiscal year. Maps of authorized cutting areas are provided at the time the permit is obtained. Current center hours are Monday-Thursday, noon until 4:15 p.m. and Fridays, Noon until 2:15 p.m. Christmas Tree and Firewood Permits are also available free of charge on JBER- Richardson in Bldg 658, A Street between the hours of 7:30 a.m.-3:15 p.m. Monday through Friday. You must obtain a Recreation Access Permit from the JBER-Richardson visitor center prior to obtaining a permit for JBER-Richardson.
