First Reenlistment in New Headquarters Building Published Feb. 23, 2009 By Staff Sgt. Rhiannon Willard 477th Fighter Group / Public Affairs ELMENDORF AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska -- Senior Master Sgt. Tim Zellar, 477th Civil Engineer Squadron reenlisted Feb. 17. He was the first Reservist to reenlist in the new 477th Fighter Group Headquarters. The building is scheduled to be complete by Sept. 2009. "I was thrilled to be able to enlist in our new headquarters. Being a structures guy, I thought it was only fitting," said Sgt. Zellar. Sgt. Zellar needed to reenlist prior to his upcoming deployment. The 477 CES will deploy in the Spring for the first time since World War II. They are the only Air Force Reserve civil engineer squadron in Alaska and are assigned to the 477th Fighter Group. The 477 FG is a Classic Associate unit responsible for recruiting, training, developing and retaining unrivaled Citizen Airmen.
