The Alaska Army National Honor Guard stands ready to present the colors during the Palmer Junior Middle School Tribute to Veterans concert in Palmer Alaska Nov. 9, 2012. Veterans Day originated as “Armistice Day” on Nov. 11, 1919 the first anniversary of the conclusion of World War I.
