The women of the Abu Shouk IDP camp came out to celebrate receiving Solar Cookers donated by Maj. Jonathan Gration. The Solar Cookers cut the requirement for firewood by two-thirds. It also keeps the women from having to search for firewood outside of the IDP camp where they are at risk for attack. It also preserves Darfur’s trees; Sudan currently ranks fourth in the world for deforestation. (Courtesy Photo)
