Retired Lt. Col. James Warren, one of the original Tuskegee Airmen, swaps flying stories with 477th Fighter Group pilots.

Retired Lt. Col. James Warren, one of the original Tuskegee Airmen, swaps flying stories with Maj. Kevin 'Showtime' Sutterfield and Lt. Col. Brian 'Pyro' Silkey, both members of the 302nd Fighter Squadron, during the Tuskegee Airmen's 38th Annual National Convention from 6-8 August. Lt. Col. Warren is the honorary commander for the Air Force Reserve Command's 477th Fighter Group, Elmendorf AFB, and a former member of the 477th Bombardment Group. The 477th BG activated during World War II as part of the historic Tuskegee Airmen and was reactivated in 2007 when the 477th Fighter Group became the Air Force Reserve Command's first F-22 Raptor unit. Lt. Col. Warren and several other original Tuskegee Airmen attended the 2007 reactivation ceremony, linking their incredible heroism and courage during WWII with the 477th FG's exciting future.
