A U.S. Air Force RC-135 Rivet Joint aircraft assigned to the 763rd Expeditionary Reconnaissance Squadron is refueled by a KC-135R Stratotanker aircraft assigned to the 340th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron during an operation in support of the Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan over the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, May 23, 2021. The Rivet Joint is an intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance platform that hosts an extensive sensor suite to allow the crew to detect, identify and geolocate signals throughout the electromagnetic spectrum.
