39th SFS partners with U.S. Soldiers to conduct first joint K-9 helicopter training
U.S. Airmen and Soldiers assigned to Incirlik Air Base, Turkey prepare to execute a joint K-9 helicopter training mission at Incirlik AB, June 28, 2021. During the mission, military working dog handlers from the 39th Security Forces Squadron conducted medical evacuations on simulated K-9 casualties and other mission-specific tasks required for real-world operations. The mission marked the first time MWD handlers at Incirlik AB partnered with U.S. Army UH-60 Black Hawk crews for interservice training, which enabled them to acclimate their K-9s to helicopter operations under combat conditions.
