CMSgt Andrea M. Gosa is the Senior Enlisted Leader for the 477th Fighter Group, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. CMSgt Gosa is responsible for the effective management and utilization of over 300 airmen across seven squadrons. Additionally, she advises the commander on matters concerning the health, morale, welfare, discipline, career progression, recognition, mission readiness and professional development.
CMSgt Gosa grew up in Kansas, Alabama, Germany and finally Illinois where she enlisted in the Air Force September of 2003 as an Emergency Management journeymen in Civil Engineer with the 932d Airlift Wing. She attended the Readiness Journeyman Technical School at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, graduating March 2004. She supported Enduring Freedom at Scott AFB filling in for her active duty counter parts from 2004-2006. SMSgt Gosa later transitioned to the 73d Airlift Squadron as a Special Missions Flight Attendant on C-9C’s and Boeing Business Jet C-40Cs (737s) accumulating over 3000 flying hours including over 160 combat hours. In 2017 SMSgt Gosa was hired in the 477th Maintenance Squadron as their First Sergeant. In 2020, SMSgt Gosa deployed as the First Sergeant for the 386th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron supporting Operation Freedom Sentinel where she supported more than 300 Security Forces Airmen.
In addition to her military service, SMSgt Gosa has 16 years of government and investigatory experience. She is currently serving as an Aviation Safety Inspector for the Department of Transportation in Alaska. She received her certificate of Aviation Safety Investigator (ASI) from the Transportation Safety Institute in 2016.
