JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska -- Master Sgt. Kyle Cooley is the resilience first sergeant for the entire 477th Fighter Group.
Q: What led you to join the Air Force Reserve?
A: I wanted to stay in Alaska while continuing to serve in the Air Force.
Q: What was your previous assignment? Where do you claim as your hometown?
A: I was previously the 477th Fighter Group’s Development and Training flight chief and before that I was part of the 3rd Munitions Squadron here at JBER. For my hometown I claim Athens, Ohio.
Q: What is your favorite Air Force memory?
A: My deployment to Africa.
Q: What is your favorite part about being a first sergeant?
A: So far, it’s getting out there and meeting all the folks in our unit.
Q: What can 477th Airmen expect from you?
A: That I will work as hard as I can every day to serve you.
Q: What advice do you have for them?
A: Make sure you take time to take care of yourself and take care of each other.
Q: What do you look forward to the most?
A: Hopefully making a difference in people’s lives.
Q: Who is your hero and why?
A: It would have to be my dad, he worked 16-hour days all the time to give our family a good life.
