Lieutenant Colonel Clayton Johnson is the Commander, 477th Maintenance Squadron, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK. Lt Col Clayton Johnson entered the Air Force in 2000 after graduating from Arizona State University and attending Officer Training School. He earned his wings at Vance AFB, Oklahoma in 2001. Lt Col Johnson started his career in the Air Force Reserve as an Air Reserve Technician with the 457th Fighter Squadron in Ft Worth, TX. After being selected to help stand up the first Reserve F-22 squadron, Lt Col Johnson served in the 525 FS weapons shop and deployed twice with the squadron on Theater Security Packages to bases in the Pacific Theater. He has served in a variety of positions within the 302d Fighter Squadron, 611th Air Operations Center and 3d Wing. He has logged combat and combat support mission experience during multiple deployments in support of Operations SOUTHERN WATCH and IRAQI FREEDOM. Lt Col Johnson is married to April Johnson and has two children: Kara and Clay.
