Maj. Russell Wilmot, 477th Fighter Group Operations Support Flight, and Staff Sgt. Danielle Foster, a medic from the 302nd Fighter Squadron, watch as Tech. Sgt. Josh Welch, a boom operator from the 434th Air Refueling Wing, refuels an F-22A Raptor. Maj. Wilmot and Staff Sgt. Foster were two of 14 personnel from the 477th FG and 3rd Wing who flew on a KC-135 Stratotanker orientation flight July 14. The crew from the 434th ARW came up to Elmendorf Air Force Base from Grissom Air Reserve Base, Indiana to support the 477th FG's first-flying Unit Training Assembly in July. They flew several personnel and spouses from the 477th FG and the 3rd Wing here on two orientation flights, showcasing the KC-135 and F-22 refueling capabilities and how the units work together in flight.
